Can I add more than one definition to a plottable item?

Each definition can have multiple, different definitions, called "fallthroughs". A fallthrough definition is applied if the first definition will produce a null result. As with all data customizations, fallthroughs are applied only to the data template on which they are added¹. So for instance, if a fallthrough definition is added to EBITDA in the Telecommunications template, it will not be applicable in any other templates unless manually added.

To add a fallthrough definition

1. Select a data template and data category in Definitions.

2. Hover over the plottable item to which you would like to add a definition and click the pencil icon. This will open the Definition Editor. Here, you can see the name, the format, the location and the ID of the plottable. Current definitions are visible in the first line of the definition box.

3. Hit +Definition to open a new definition field. Select the metrics that should be used to calculate the fallthrough definition. Hit Save.

¹ You cannot add fallthrough definitions to any Pellucid master templates (indicated by "Pellucid" in the name of the template).
